Ever since we were young people tell us that we should be in pursuit of higher education, pursuit of a significant other or spouse so that we can have the two and a half children family with the good job. That happiness is their happiness and not necessarily ours.

My happiness comes from improving the world around me and living each day the best way that I can. Generally this leaves me overworked and exhausted. So I decided to take a vacation and what better place than The Happiest place in the world, Disney.

I sit in the resort bedroom and compose this entry.
I think about my husband, who preferred to stay home with the pets, and I will be happy to see them tomorrow. I look around at the souvenirs not only for him, but for friends, and know that they will bring smiles to their faces and that makes me happy.

Coming to the flower festival and seeing the whimsical character topiaries certainly has brought a smile to my face but the true contentment that I am feeling at this moment comes from knowing that I have participated in something greater than myself. Disney's conservation programs help to make this piece of the world a better place and really, who can go wrong with solar panels shaped like Mickey.

Wow! Mickey solar panels!!! I've only been to Disney once when kids were 10 & 7. We had a blast and meeting Mary Poppins made me cry. There IS reason why they call it the happiest place on earth. Peace~~~D

Loved this! I've always wanted to go to the flower festival. Maybe sometime . . . :)

There are solar panels shaped like Mickey? Man I wish I'd had those installed on my roof instead of boring rectangular ones. XD

It's been many years since I've been to a Disney park. I'd love to return someday, especially as I live in California, but I have no idea when that's going to happen. My oldest kid isn't into theme parks so I may have to wait until she's old enough to look after herself and I can go without her.

Ohhh.... that's not quite what I was picturing, but that's really cool.

I've never been to Disney, but a flower festival sounds lovely. I did not know about the solar panels, that's truly awesome.

Listen, I am a curmudgeon, but Disney definitely smoothed over some of my stodginess when I went there for a really weird work function. It's cool that they're doing conservation programs--giving something back.

I love the cool topiaries there! I don't go to Disney very often anymore but I used to go a lot since I live nearby, and it was always fun. :) I hope you had a great time.

You're about the third person I know who has recently gone to Disney World. Hope you have fun!

That does sound fun :)

I have never been to Disneyworld or Disneyland. Maybe someday? Like yours, my husband is not interested in going.

I'm so glad you had fun :)
